The Happy Yak Bars
Delicious cheese bars made in the Himalayan mountains from local cow & yak milk.
Yak bars/ cheese bars have established themselves as a firm favourite with dogs of all shapes & sizes. However, our Happy Yak bars are not the mass-produced versions you see almost everywhere these days. Our Happy Yak bars are made by villagers in a remote village factory in the Himalayan mountains. Back in 2022 it was just a small enterprise with one farmer, a few cows & a couple of yaks, but now the factory helps support over 20 local families & 6 local farms. The yaks are free to roam at the very high altitudes where they are at their happiest & they can munch on all the healthful free-growing herbs and botanicals they find on their travels.
Surprisingly yak bars/ cheese bars are very hard, so they last a long time (usually, at least a week or two), and because they're low in lactose & moderate in fat, they suit all but the most delicate of tums.
They are great for cleaning teeth & for reducing stress & anxiety - or simply use them to guarantee a bit of peace & quiet in a cafe or working from home!
And, when (eventually) the bar is chewed down to a nub and begins to become a choking hazard, instead of throwing it away the nub can then be microwaved where it will morph into a big cheesy puff ball. Simply soak the nub in water for 5 minutes & then microwave on full power for 30 seconds or so & voila! - a surprise treat that your dog will go mad for. (Allow it to cool before giving it to your dog, though!)
Ingredients:
Cow & yak milk with just a smidge of salt & lime juice (for hardness)
