Plaque & Bad Breath
A tasty, 100% natural food supplement to help remove existing plaque & prevent it forming again.
Nothing beats regular brushing of your dog's teeth, but if your dog is in strong opposition 🙄 or is a breed prone to dental issues (e.g. Toy Poodles, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Greyhounds, Chihuahuas, Yorkshire Terriers), then alternative approaches can be extremely helpful.
Dental sticks can help to some extent, but not enough to rely heavily on them, and a simple raw carrot can often work just as well. Plus, most are made from low-quality ingredients with added flavourings, so they really aren't an ideal solution.
Certain long-lasting and/or rough textured treats such as Ostrich Bones, Moo Tubes, Tripe Sticks, Hairy Cow Ears (or rabbit ears for smaller dogs) etc can do a fairly good job of 'brushing' your dog's teeth whilst also providing some nutritional support so they're always worth adding to the diet at least twice a week, but adding a daily seaweed supplement really can work wonders over time.
Our Plaque and Bad Breath formulation contains natural, healthful ingredients that you simply sprinkle onto their dinner.
Only a small amount in needed so the pot lasts for ages & most dogs seem to like the taste, so it's an easy addition.
Allow 6 weeks for noticeable results.
Ingredients:
Seaweed 95%
Ascophyllum nodosum is a variety of brown seaweed which offers several scientifically-backed benefits for dogs' dental health. Firstly, it contains bioactive compounds like fucoidan and alginate, which possess anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. These compounds help inhibit the growth of oral bacteria responsible for plaque and tartar formation, thus reducing the risk of periodontal diseases in dogs.
Furthermore, ascophyllum nodosum helps soften any existing plaque on the teeth, so adding some extra abrasion into the diet will help dislodge the plaque more quickly (we like Ostrich Bones, Hairy Cow Ears or Fish Skin Cubes for this, but any long-lasting/textured chew will do).
It's also rich in essential minerals such as calcium and magnesium, which contribute to the strength and density of teeth. Regular consumption of ascophyllum nodosum can therefore help fortify dogs' teeth, making them more resistant to decay and damage.
PLUS it has a whole range of other health benefits too, from boosting fur & skin health, supporting the immune system (its often used for seasonal allergies) and helping with the inflammation associated with arthritis.
In short, your dog needs seaweed in their life!
Activated Charcoal 3.5%
Activated charcoal is a form of carbon that has been processed to have lots of small, low-volume pores. This unique structure enables it to trap & bind toxins, bacteria & gases making it a powerful adsorbent for plaque, microbes & bad breath, plus its slightly abrasive texture helps dislodge existing plaque as well. It can also help remove stains!
Parsley 1.5%
We all know that parsley can help sweeten breath, but it also has strong antibacterial properties (which is why it's great for UTI prevention).
