Dog food for healthy skin & coat

Nothing says 'healthy dog' like gleaming fur, so if you're trying to gloss your dog up or if they're recovering from a skin condition or a bout of illness, you'll not only be looking for a nutritious food but also one that's full of lovely Omega 3's.  Omegy 3 fatty acids are essential for skin & coat health as well as helping your dog fight infections.  Fatty acids are found in strongest quanitities in fish, so the recipes below have a good fish content & exceptionally good Omega 3 levels.  For an added boost you may wish to add salmon oil to their dinners too.

Of course there are other causes for a poor coat such as worms, fleas, infections, thyroid issues & kidney conditions, so if you don't see an improvement within a few weeks you might want to consider getting these possibilities ruled out too.  It's also worth mentioning that food allergies/intolerances can cause itchy skin & a dull coat, so the recipes we've listed here are also very low allergen.
